Relationship Protocol 2026

Signing the Relationship Protocol 2026

On Tuesday February 17, we gathered in a good way with Xʷsepsəm (Esquimalt) Nation, Songhees Nation and UVic representatives—including the Office of the Vice-President Indigenous, at the 探花系列 to sign the Relationship Protocol 2026.

This Protocol reflects a shared commitment to strengthening our relationship through collaboration, mutual respect and cultural understanding — guided by lək̓ʷəŋən values and principles. Rooted in reconciliation, it sets a path forward focused on meaningful and tangible outcomes in areas such as economic development, land stewardship, education, cultural revitalization and community well-being.

More than a document, this is a living commitment. One that will continue to evolve through dialogue, learning and partnership. Each partner enters this work in the spirit of Naut’sa mawt — together as one — with humility and care.

To everyone who joined us: thank you. Your leadership, presence and trust continue to shape this work in powerful ways.

We invite you to read the full Relationship Protocol and reflect on what it means to work together in right relations.
