Huge congratulations to our PhD candidate and Sessional instructor Leah Mernaugh Bergman on receiving the 2026 Teaching Excellence Award for Graduate Students at the .
 
As per the Dean's letter: "Since 2021, you have demonstrated consistent teaching excellence as both a teaching assistant and sessional instructor, earning the highest possible performance ratings across multiple programs in the Department of Anthropology. In addition, the Committee was impressed by your research-informed approach, which weaves your own doctoral fieldwork into undergraduate instruction and empowers students to think critically about complex social issues while making anthropological theory tangible and accessible."
