We are thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2025-26 Graduate Excellence Awards within our environmental studies community. Thank you to those graduate students below for your dedication and commitment to the continued betterment of our faculty and the field of environmental studies!
Research Excellence Award for Graduate Students:
- Claire Wright, PhD student: in recognition of her innovative research on ecological change and responsible conservation intervention in Waterton Lakes and Jasper National Parks using historic and repeat landscape imagery. Her work was also celebrated for its technical ingenuity, collaborations with Indigenous knowledge holders, and an impressive publication record.
Community-Engaged Research and Knowledge Mobilization Award for Graduate Students
- Marcela Faralhi Daolio, Master’s Student: in recognition of her sustained, community-grounded climate adaptation research, including work with the Skidegate community in Haida Gwaii and the BC First Nations Health Authority. Her research was recognized for its thoughtful and innovative approach to mobilizing knowledge across academic and community settings, and for its meaningful contribution to Indigenous-engaged environmental research.
We are proud to have such exemplary students representing ENVI and inspiring others through their exceptional work and commitment.
