External Research Funding
Applying for external funding opportunities
External funding applications (with the exception of student scholarships) must be approved internally by ORS before you submit them to the funding agency.
Tips
Tips for finding funding opportunities to support your research
- Talk to your faculty grants officer about ideas of appropriate funders
- Consult colleagues in your department/school and research centre
- Seek advice from scholars in your research area and professional network
- Review research funder websites, subscribe to their e-newsletters, and follow them on social media
- Read the acknowledgments sections of relevant journal articles to see who supported the work
- Try a web search (e.g. “Canadian grants for cancer research”)
