Co-op and career leadership transition (March 31, 2026) - Karima Ramji has been appointed Executive Director, Co-operative Education Program and Career Services, effective July 1, 2026.
Dean of Graduate Studies reappointed (Feb. 26, 2026) - Dr. Robin Hicks has been reappointed for a second term as Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies.
Core Writing and Research Requirement (updated Feb. 12, 2026) - A working group is reviewing UVic's Academic Writing Requirement to ensure it meets the evolving needs of students.
Academic Accommodations (updated Jan. 30, 2025) - UVic remains committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming learning environment to support students with disabilities.
Three Deans reappointed (Dec. 18, 2025) - Deans of Humanities, Engineering and Computer Science, and Social Sciences have been reappointed by their colleagues to serve consecutive terms.
John Horgan Campus (updated Dec. 2, 2025) - UVic is offering programming at a new campus in Langford, which opened September 2025 in partnership with Royal Roads and Camosun.
LaunchPad Pathway (Dec. 1, 2025) - Congratulations to Engineering and Computer Science on the approval of their LaunchPad pathway program.
Course outlines tool (updated Nov. 24, 2025) - UVic is launching a new course outlines management tool in Brightspace.
Budget model review (updated Nov. 6, 2025) - UVic is revising our budget model to better align with our values, principles and priorities.
Classroom Recording Working Group (updated September 9, 2025) - A working group has completed its mandate of reviewing the opportunities and challenges associated with classroom lecture recording at UVic.
Funding faculty accessibility strategies (Aug. 27, 2025) - VPAC is allocating $450,000 to support faculties with accommodations in 2025/26.
International Education Strategic Plan (April 7, 2025) - UVic publishes first International Education Strategic Plan in response to a new provincial requirement.
