Background

Laura Lee, PhD, is a public health scholar and educator specializing in gender equity and health, child protection, and participatory research with marginalized youth in East Africa and globally. Her work focuses on translating research into practical program and policy guidance, collaborating with NGOs, UN agencies, and community partners to strengthen evidence-informed practice and health and social policy. At UVic, she teaches various topics in public health and global health, bringing extensive field experience and a commitment to equity-centered, applied learning in the classroom.
